Hi everyone - was wondering if anyone had data points on compensation for Biz Ops / Strategy / Ops roles that hire from consulting shops, i-banks, or other corporate roles.

Seeing a wide range of numbers and want to understand what large startups (>$1B and well funded) and big tech co’s (FANG, LinkedIn, etc, pay.

I know there’s a wide range of roles out there so anything helps.

I currently have 6 YOE with total comp of $200K. Hoping to make more in my next role but haven’t gotten any ranges that top my current TC. Thanks everyone!

Thanks for the reply. Curious, what kinds of roles at Google best fit the “biz ops” mold?

There are plenty - retail post sales care, supply chain, infrastructure. Apple has a manufacturing operations org which is world class. So depends on what you want to do. My 2 cents is not to get motivated purely by TC. Amazon and Apple Pay will be low to begin with, but you’ll learn a lot. You can take it easy in google, but you may not learn much or work on cool stuff.

The bizops roles I know about in Google would probably come in around 250k ish if you get hired at the higher end of the L4 band.

I doubt they will hire you at L5 with 6 yoe, but if you manage to do it then 300k+ is pretty doable.

On more thing though, if you do well in Google the stocks can add up pretty quickly. I know it's not the general sentiment on blind but my guess is a lot of people here think they are high perforerms while in reality they are not. Everyone I know who is important to the company (not just getting high ratings because of tenure) easily pulls in 20-30% higher then the standard bands.

For 6YOE in the Bay Area you’re looking at ~$150-160k base, $15k bonus, with probably $60k-$80k (over 4yrs) in equity at a FAANG or a larger tech company like LinkedIn, I assume LA would be slightly less. Agree with the other poster that you might get ~10% bump over your current TC with a strong offer. If you’re in consulting or IB now your WLB will likely be much better, though.

Depending on the level they give you, it could be maybe 10% higher than your current TC, but I’d same expect something similar to your current TC if not lower

I’m in Austin and work for a startup with less than 100 employees, 3 total YOE, 2 being in biz ops, and total comp is 85k as a biz ops manager (no direct reports). Where are you located?

Based in Los Angeles. What’s your background? Feels like room for upside on your end, although not sure what Austin market numbers are like. Happy to chat more if you want to brainstorm
