Just observed some concerning patterns wrt Byjus
- it's a copy cat industry. China has already banned it from profiteering. Many US universities offer much more advanced courses for free.
- fomo-inducing and predatory marketing practices - we all have seen harassment story of Pradeep Poonia and Wolf Gupta campaign. There entire business is on creating imaginary fear of the child's failure. They serve and intend to promote hyper competitiveness in very young kids.
- It's not a tech company. There is no revolutionary ground breaking tech produced in any area - niether content delivery, nor in any inhouse graphics suite
- Not the best tech talent being hired, it's not even their focus.
- The management is mostly deadmeat kicked out of their previous tech orgs.
#non-tech
