Had a recruiter reach out for a senior non-tech position. I haven’t heard of these folks before, but they claim to be a unique, and powerful engineering code search. Thoughts?

It does have precise code intelligence, using LSIF (the Microsoft open standard) not Kythe (the Google open standard that is less popular). It has pattern-based definitions/references out of the box but you should set up precise code intel if you’re using it often.

How precise is it? Can I track all references to my overload of 'operator =' ?

  • Great tool. Can't live without it once you gave it a try. The only problem I see is that its benefits are highly proportional to the size of codebase (otherwise a local language server suffices), so the market won't be as broad as Slack/Gitlab.
