Qualcomm 2 years seniority

So I'm talking to SD graphics team. 18 YOE. They offer 170k base, 80k initial rsu, promise 40k anual refresh and 25k bonus. Also both hiring mgr and HR promise "significant increase in compensation" after acquiring 2 years of experience in the graphics field, which, as they claim, is a standard policy. Anyone could confirm?

Don’t ever believe that shit. They say it so you’ll sign. All they need you for is 2 years

New hires , regardless, of seniority, start getting productive after 6mo at minimum. So they want to keep people around for longer than 2yrs. Agree, this 2yrs thing could be total lie, but typically hiring mgr and HR have their own versions of BS.

6 months maybe if you work at Intel.. Fast paced companies make you submit a PR on day 1

Sounds like BS to me. Anything can happen in two years. Maybe recession starts and budget cut so they freeze raises, who's to say? If it's not in the offer don't consider it as given

Bull shit

This is true due to some bs internal policy of the graphics team. The bump in pay once they consider you their own is very significant. What level is being offered to you? Is it Principal? I can comment on the annual refresh and bonus after that.

Haha your username checks out

Oh, thanks. Some leap of hope. It's Senior Staff.

I also got the same offer and have the same YOE. Everyone lowballs Intelites. I was also coming from Intel at the time. It’s very key to GTFO of Intel so you won’t get lowballed in your next job. Worst case we stay at Q for a couple of years and if we don’t see an improvement in the TC, we just move on. That’s what I’m doing.

Intel YJPz88 OP Aug 16, 2019

Have you experienced the "lowballing" towards INTC anywhere else in your search?

Broadcom Ltd. headbanger Aug 16, 2019

Oh yeah! I’ve been at Intel twice. And both times I got lowballed coming out of it. The only time I wasn’t lowballed was when I was leaving Broadcom. Employers either gave up matching Broadcom TC upfront, or they matched or barely beat it. And this is all over Blind that Intelites get discriminated against and lowballed by companies like Google, Apple etc.
