What is the typical base compensation, RSU, joining bonus, retention bonus, profit sharing and other benefits in Qualcomm (San Diego) for Senior Eng role?
IC gets RSU and signing bonus. You can check levels.fyi and see what recent offers have been. Retention bonus is team specific I think, or mainly camera/gpu/modem.
What is IC
That’s the bottleneck actually. Not finding anyone to whom Q has extended offer recently in Sr Eng role, hence asking here. Any ball park range would also be helpful
130 base is top of band 50 cash is possible Unknown RSUs
@op, could you edit your post to tag Qualcomm?
Done
They gave an offer for a senior eng role (modem) which looks like below: Base: 111.5K Sign on: 40k RSU: 29k I am in the middle of negotiation phase. But HR is repeating the same saying they maxed out and all. Any tips for approaching this ongoing negotiation better?
Data Point. Last week many in Modem SW got their base salary increased from anywhere in the range of 6% - 15% . The senior Engineers are getting $130k base (not all, this is for people who are on the edge for Staff level) . The range i feel for Senior Engineers Modem Dev team is in range $115k - $135k . Your offer for $111.5k is below the band . ( however this is exactly the base that a Sr Engineer was getting prior to the raises last week ) PS : this is only for modem SW. other teams may or may not have gotten a raise. Think about that . I am not sure if you can raise this point with HR since the raises were done clandestinely and none is supposed to speak of it
Modem systems and hardware got the adjustment last year.
i know a modem system senior level with a base of 139k
Small homes almost no backyard within reasonable distance to QC are 1.4-1.6million in San Diego now. You need 240-267k to have a home price to salary ratio of 6. Don't accept less. Period. QC low balls everyone hoping you are desperate enough to take their low ball offer. Send them packing or tell them you expect to get paid overtime at 2x hourly rate to cover all the overtime you are about to do. You can also tell them that force the lowball salary they offered you will accept if you can locate in a low CoL area, like Texas, North Carolina, etc
Don't include signing on bonus, per bonus in TC. They are on time only and the other is not guaranteed. (Especially in the choppy market we are going to be going through starting in about 1 year)

Worried that our top performer is an attrition risk. How do managers handle this?
I figured they didn’t do any of that for IC’s
Oh really! Though I’m asking this for EM (non-IC) role
