Hi all, wondering how you feel about qualcomm. I might be joining as a SW Engineer in a 5G/LTE team. Read some posts from last year in which people are hating on the company. This would be my first job right after bachelors.
Looking forward to reading your comments/insights.

Pay wise , modem teams are getting good pay. There was a slump in the last few years where pay was not upto the mark, but we survived thru it.
There is politics in every company, so i dont think that is an outlier with qcom.
The company has great health benefits as well.
You asked a wrong question. You should be “what can you change about yourself” and the answer is wish i were working in an actual SW company.
Yes i am happy with my work life balance. For the most part management has realised it cannot lose any more talent so that means if anything bothers you , you are free to discuss it with your manager.
Employees are encourage to take time off for family, sick days etc. We also do WFH 5 days a month. As long as your job gets done , nobody cares where you do it from.
Technology wise: it is not a great place to be. Youll be left out while other companies are rushing to cloud/ML/AI/SDVs. But that just depends on you and how you want to improve yourself and is not a reflection on Qcom
