got a L4 offer from qualtrics with TC 230k L61 TC 170k YOE 3 Location Seattle read throgh all the posts in Blind most of them are not so good comments about Q here in Blind. Is it really that bad? The interview experience at Q was very good and people there are good also. and the tech stack is very different from MS which means there is lot to learn? I can also internal team change at MS. Any good suggestions will be very appreciated. Thanks. another question is that how is the MS + Q experience on the resume for getting jobs at FANG and any big tech companies.
That seems like a good offer. Ping me if you are looking other as well
Thanks for helps and inputs.
Looks like you are close to L4 top band salary . Don’t expect huge hikes until you get promoted .
Hey how was the interview process like? The recruiter just reached out to me this week
Wow are they’re paying more than MS these days?
There are way more companies that pay more than MS.
I thought they paid less than MS actually.
Not sure about bad things you read here on Qualtrics. However, some things are true while others not. Yes, there are a lot of junior folks, however they have been hiring a lot of senior folks recently. There are a lot of senior and staff engineers. Nobody adopts a language for new service based on article on Medium. It probably used to be in the past. Sure, infra is not top notch like at MS or Amazon, but it is ok (opportunities to improve). If I am drinking kool aid? No, once stocks deplete I will probably start looking for something. Until then it is fine, there is work and opportunities. If you can get same TC at MS or Amazon, then no reason for a change, otherwise why not.
Whats the break down offer
What's the breakdown? What's your current TC at Microsoft?
Already mentioned in the post
Breakdown means mentioning Base, RSU , and signon separately.
I already have my MS TC in the post. If you really want to know the break down for Q offer Dm me.
Eng is as bad as you read but I'd consider making the switch for that bump in TC. It'll take you three years to make senior at qualtrics so if you can make 63 at msft in less time, you might want to just stay. Otherwise, come spend a couple years getting out of the Microsoft stack and learning something new until you get tired of it and then head back to MS.
Why not try other companies too
I am not sure but most of the big tech companies that I spoke with they are only hiring more senior people with more YOE like 6+ at seattle office.
Google ? You don't want to come to Bay area ?
