does qualtrics have respect in the tech sphere if I wanna take an offer there and leave after a few years? does anyone know if it an enjoyable office? theyve been growing rapidly since their $8B+ acquisition... anywhere work there or taken an offer for Tech or Non Tech roles? looking at provo, utah or Dallas offices TC: 0
Current Qualtrics engineer, here's my take: You probably won't get your next job by trading on Qualtrics's reputation, but it's a great place to develop the skills you'll need to be effective at higher levels of eng. First, our engineering org is immature compared to faang, so there's lots of changes to try new things out. Second, there is actually a lot business momentum, which means you have real customers who are waiting anxiously for what you're building, and you have real business impact that way. Finally, there is a lot of room for generalists here. Teams run their own ops, build, testing, etc. So you gain a ton of experience across the software lifecycle that you would be insulated from at a faang with a more specialized role. I'm in Seattle, which is a pleasant place to work, but Provo seems from my visits there to be an enjoyable office as well.
Qualtrics does have some engineering prestige in Utah, but that says more about Utah than it does about Qualtrics. If you are considering Dallas office then you must be in sales — in that case I have no idea what companies are prestigious for sales.
I have no idea what SAP thinks about their ROI as someone pointed out above, and I don’t care. My wlb and TC is better than I had at big corp. At certain time in life you start cherishing wlb, health more than some prestige, etc.
SAP management is incredibly volatile and unstable. If Waldorf can not find a way to control your organization, they will cripple it to make it irrelevant. You should be very concerned about what SAP thinks.
The moment it starts affecting me I will start looking outside. So far so good.
On the bright side, Qualtrics is still an unknown entity. So it hasn’t hit a stage where their name will impact your chances one way or the other. Like others have said, there is a chance to make something of yourself since it’s new. However, it has a VERY immature engineering culture. Features that have absolutely no business being released are pumped out at a constant clip and their QA seems almost non-existent. If you’re willing to deal with junior resources who still think they’re in a 101 class, go for it.
“Junior resources” - love it!
He's not kidding. The majority of the engineers at Qualtrics are new grad engineers. They have a lot of energy to built stuff but that energy is not directed properly. This is why I also feel like features are pumped regardless if they make sense or not that only harms the focus of the product.
I'll say this: the instant I updated my linkedin to include qualtrics, amazon and facebook seattle recruiters started reaching out to me.

Amazon Internship or TikTok Fulltime?
I heard that SAP management isn’t too happy with the ROI on qualtrics and that major restructuring is on the way.
We can only hope.
