I recently received an offer from Quantcast for the position of software engineer (new grad). Looking at the competition in the Adtech space and A lot of not so positive reviews on glassdoor, is it worth joining Quantcast?
No. Run if you can.
Any reasons why?
Also curious to know why. Are they toxic in the typical ad tech way or in their own unique way?
Bad management and toxic working culture. The changes in the executive level happens quite often (6 months or so). Bad WLB. And they don't pay very well either.
This is not true. Leadership has stabilized and pay is competitive.
I see, thanks for the info.
Again, this is not true.... we had a few bad hires, who have left. Generally, people like each other, work hard and have fun. Guessing the "toxic" person who wrote the negative shit has moved on... thank goodness!
I don’t think I agree with the poster above. Quantcast has made a lot of changes in the last year to improve the negative feedback it received. Bad actors have left. Smart and great people with typical small company pains. The biggest negative is that the company is in a market that is shrinking. The company is betting on the new strategy.
Still a sinking ship even with the changes made.
I don't agree either. It's a great team, strong engineers, work/life balance. If you are looking for growth to learn a lot in a short time frame from great engineers, then it's a good place to start your career. Avg is a 1 to 3 year ratio comparatively... for every year at QC, it will take you on avg 3 at a larger company to learn the same amount.
I have a friend working there and he doesn't like the place much. There is not much work to do and they dissolve teams often.
