Do your RSUs vest quarterly, annually, or on a different cadence? Thanks in advance for sharing. Viasat’s is annual and this seems less than ideal.
Amazon has a weird vest schedule. Like 5/15/20/20/20. Starting year two of the grant and vesting every 6 months from there.
Companies with higher attrition rate have this kind of vesting schedule. What else do you expect from Amazon?
Yes, quarterly vesting is essentially like a normal salary and is a plus. Annual: much less so. This should not matter though if you view your employment as long term and the company is sufficiently strong. It is also important how refreshers vest. Sometimes they vest in one year. So, you labor for 1 year, then get payout after another year. So, you get rewarded after 2 years, assuming you made some material progress in the 1st month -- seems very unfair to me.
It matters a lot for job mobility. I don't even expect any employer to do annual vesting. I took my current job without realizing it qas annual vesting. I would not repeat this mistake again. Annual vesting is like a chain
Apple is every 6 months
Google is monthly
Monthly at Google for bigger grants
Quarterly. Used to have a 1yr cliff but no longer
Lucky you. So important to have this. Annual vesting sucks
