Hi there, i posted this in the MSFT board anf thought ot wouldbe good to post in General to get inputs from ex-MSFT employees who may have gone through similar situation. A friend of mine has been on performance improvement plan for 5+ months. He has been dealing with health issues and has not been able to meet the required expectations. He recevied an email from his manager today letting hin know that he is not meeting the expectations and that his employment is in jeopardy. i have been at MS for 5+ years and he reached out to me to see if I had seen similar situations in my experience. He wants to double down and make progress and meet the requirements. He is on H1B visa (8+ years) with I-140 approved and priority date in 2011. Looking for inputs / personal experience from others if they have gone through similar situation. This is the first time he has gotten an email with “employment at jeopardy” in it. Does this mean it is too late for him to do anything to recover? Also when someone is fired due to low performance what happens in terms of process? are they walked out same day? do they get a time window to look for other opportunities at all? Thanks in advance for all the inputs.
