Does anyone know how the work/culture/expenses is at pwc? I have a final round interview there for an advisory/tech consulting position
Its an upgrade from accenture not quite big 3
Definitely better than ey/kpmg
If you want to do real tech work don’t join any consulting
It’s all ppts... there are some development teams like emerging technology but specifically ask for it... most of the time you will be working on new areas not specific to your skill ...it depends on the projects your team able to score ...but if not you will be working on something which you never really thought of
Work culture depends on the country or region as well and highly influenced by the partners...mostly it’s okaish
pwc actually creates new technology it just really depends on the team. could be power point only role. expenses are easy compared to other firms but not lavish unless partner allows
When you say create ‘technology’ , what do you call technology? An Apache project like LinkedIn’s Kafka or spreadsheet with VBA macros that calculates engagement margin?
Culture is cutthroat - bullying type of atmosphere. Cash flow is king and money matter. Treated like a resource not a human - had some challenging times there but in end was worth it for my career but it is tough
I’ve only been here for 7m. But it’s the worst culture. Unethical behaviors , awful work life balance. Honestly worst company I’ve worked at. I work for the most innovative area in the company and they build crap. You’d be shocked what they are building.
Tech consulting is weak and mostly BS. Culture highly dependant on the partner you work for. Most tech people are considered as 'a guy who can fix my computer'
Are you ex pwc? This is for a big data architecture position.
If you really want to do tech work, move to real tech company. Like Google, FB, Amazon. They pay better. I had never seen PwC implement a solid tech project. PwC pay will be better than your current, and you can spend a lot of client’s money on fancy dinners. The name also has prestige. But that’s about it
