Quip rejection

I went onsite to Quip and I answered all the questions in the 4.5 hours non-stop interviews. I think I was getting mostly positive reactions from the interviewers and I was liking the things I was learning about the company. However, I was rejected - the recruiter called me and said that we cannot reveal any feedback as it is not their policy to reveal any information about why you were not chosen. I feel extremely bummed by this because I do not know what I could have done better or where things went wrong, I was really looking forward to this. What could have gone wrong here? This was for a New Grad position. No TC yet :(

They liked someone else better than they liked you

Slide into their LinkedIn and ask the interviewers for feedback individually

Don’t do this. They won’t share feedback as it could get them into trouble with HR.

When I conduct an interview, I have two goals: 1. Separate the strong candidates from the weak ones 2. Make sure the candidate has a good experience The second goal means that I’ll still try to respond positively, give hints + encouragement, and answer questions helpfully even when the candidate does poorly. So maybe you solved all the problems but needed too many hints for a strong rating, or maybe there were a bunch of follow-up questions that you didn’t get to, or something like that. There’s a lot of ways you can get a good impression despite not clearing the interview.
