Quit after I-485

At what stage can I quit after an I-485 is filed? Should I wait till I get the Green Card in hand? TC 170k

AFAIK, your case must be pending for 180 days so that you can quit without issues

I've heard issues pop up during naturalization.

Not for this case, that's if you get the gc and then quit

Approved i140 (180 days from date of approval) your company can legally revoke i140 if it’s less than 180 days . On new job you can port your pd

Make sure the SOC code lines up. Do not need to notify USCIS until appt

Use AC21, after having it pending for 180 days

Depends, will you stay in the US working? My friend had an absurdly good offer in Australia he couldn't say no. He had all 3 steps approved and it was a matter of a couple of weeks until he would get the green card, but he had to leave and take the job. He had to write a letter to USCIS explaining why he didn't want to stay in the US. He had to basically say "I don't need the gc anymore, thanks". Crazy story I know. What the other guy said, your current employer could revoke your I-140, but would they? That's very unusual and I wouldn't expect anyone to do this.

Even if waited for gc approval can only leave for 6m. Life happens. Australia is great
