Quit before background check

Suppose I accept an offer from another company. If I quit FB immediately, then the background check should reveal that I am not a current employee of FB as my resume indicates. Is this ever a problem?

I did that. Background check was no problem.

Won’t be a problem. Obviously while you were interviewing you were still employed and you never lied. I have seen people who were fired from FB and pretended that they still worked there and even “they” didn’t run into issues.

Most background checks don’t care if you lie on your resume about which companies you’ve worked for or how long. I’ve met people who said they worked at FAANG company X for four years when it was only really one year. Background checks are to find out what crimes you’ve committed.

Not necessarily true - there are different types of checks companies can order. Depends on the company’s choices

^ companies can't reveal anything about your performance or comp if asked, but they will reveal your employment dates and job title upon departure.

Amazon does both criminal and education only, not work experience and dates, but Microsoft does, from what I understand. They verify company and dates worked and make sure it aligns with your resume.

FB and G both use HireRight to do criminal, education, and work history and verify dates and titles.

I think some companies like Microsoft do take employment history seriously. Most don't care too much since you cleared their hiring bar.

Oracle checks dates, but with generous margin for error. Don't know what cutoff is, but there's a policy. Source is I had something similar happen and it was fine.

In your case, it wouldn't matter really. But as far as background checks go, the scrutiny level definitely depends on the company doing the background check. Intel made me want to withdraw my offer acceptance during the background check process.. I had to write explanations for why each and every one of my education end dates or job dates were off by even a MONTH.

That sounds ridiculous

It won’t matter because when they ask Facebook for your dates of employment the truth will be clear, that you have correct info and then quit.
