Quora is complete crap

Someone copied and pasted verbatim one of my 2016 answers to a question as an answer to the same question in 2018. There weren't even the slightest casing differences between them. How does Quora not have automated duplicate filtering? And if they do, how were they stupid enough not to remove existing duplicate posts when it was released? Any new grad NLP engineer could do this, even accounting for minor word and casing changes. I had to report the pasted answer as plagiarism in order for it to disappear, and it had received the same number of upvotes as mine, 2 years after being posted.

Can you step us through one algorithm that helps determine whether one passage is a duplicate of another.

A hash map

There are tons of existing solutions for this. Just Google "near duplicate document detection" or "plagiarism detection." Detection of cleverly paraphrased plagiarism is admittedly more difficult. But this was an exact copy

Can you please report the answer?

Bloomberg GO<GO> OP Feb 6, 2020

I did already, and it was removed. The point is that this can be trivially automated, and should have been long ago. No one has time to manually monitor answers and report plagiarism.
