HC decisions aren’t changed
Prior to HC , you can interview for higher levels
I joined google as L4 with 6.5 years of work ex, but was promoted to L5 in 2 years. So if you do well, you can get to L5 in less than 2 years.
What is important is
* How you did in your interview
* Your achievements
* Current role
When we interview, we evaluate at target level +/-1. Interviewers will provide feedback what they think the demonstrated capabilities were, HC reads all packets and decides a level.
Stop thinking yoe=level.
You could be a VP at your current company of 10 people, doesn't mean you are VP for Google, heck, you'd be L5 manager probably
