In Microsoft, contractors are considered as second class. Don’t jump. Former grade 8 here, had an offer from Microsoft. Cracking Microsoft full time is pretty easy these days, easier if you happen to get into one of their hiring events.

      This.

It is true that contractors are treated as second class citizens in Microsoft. You would anyway have to go through a full loop for conversion. You might as well interview there - it's pretty easy to clear too anyway

    250k is $100/hr if you work 2500 hours in a year, but a “standard” 40 hr/week x 52 weeks is 2080. Is the job really paying 250k?

What about benefits? Will you have to self fund them as a contractor?

The pay difference might be a lot smaller than it appears at first if you’re switching from full time to contract work.
