Hello Blinder,

I am hiring a XYZ Engineer for a Financial Technology company based out of Y city and I think you would be a good fit. The position is 100% WFH.

They offer great company culture, learning and growth opportunities.

Looking forward to connecting.

Best Regards,
Recruiter

Does any sensible company hire via third party recruiters?

Why the 🦆 they don’t reveal company’s name? What the heck would I do with job description and salary range if I don’t know the company.

I only entertain company’s legit recruiter or talent sourcer. Other than that 3rd party recruiting search companies are garbage and consultancies are 💩

We offer competitive pay!

How much?

80k upto 120k based on experience (min 5-10 years of experience)

Wtf? 💦

Stupid 3rd party recruiters.

They don't share the the company name, because then the candidates could easily apply directly and the recruiters would loose out on the commission. Some of the recruiters do include name of the employer in their message in my experience. In some cases have come across interesting pre ipo companies that I would not have come across online. Smaller companies do not have the budget for full time recruitment staff and hence work with such consultants since the company only has to pay if their hire a candidate the consultant brings.

Yes I think I observed something similar.

Most of these private staffing companies have connections with startups but not big tech.

I think your response makes sense more to me now.

  • I feel like they also share your resume with others. After I answered to one such recruiter I started receiving a ton of emails from multiple recruiters. They’d send google docs with multiple roles across multiple companies.

  • In India, they're a viable route to get into lesser known higher paying companies. But you need to separate the wheat from the chaff.

They can be a great way to get your foot in the door on a contract with a large client of theirs but don’t let them push you around either.
