Is there someone who has any experience of this case? Is requesting evidence on high salary good sign or not? I consider my salary modest. More info: ML engineer base: 138k TC: 190k I have PhD and 4y of work experience.
That is definitely a decent salary for Visa purposes. Most non-FAANG H1B salaries/TC are lower than those for folks with 4 yrs experience.
Thank you! It makes me feel less stressed.
That TC for ML engineer with 4yoe is a bit low. But should have no problem for Visa because that is way above many people's salary.
Would it be weird to ask for increasing salary for visa issue? At least I can try, isnt it?
If you have already signed the offer, then it's unlikely the company will increase TC. But you can share your concern with your recruiter and ask what the company could do to help.
Your TC doesn't matter. Your base does, plus maybe the bonus depending on the lawyer. Base of 138 wouldn't cut it. Go to the Beaureu of Labor Statistics website, they will have the salary distribution for your job code and location. For the high salary criteria your salary should be more than the 90th percentile. For example, last I remember, the 90th percentile was around 168K for santa Clara county. Still, best of luck with the process and let us know if it goes through
Did you use the salary as evidence for O1?
Yes. It's my one of the three criteria.
Yeah, it doesn’t apply then. I’m on O1 and in my case the salary wasn’t used as evidence (TC was higher than 190 btw)
Could you please update, agar happened in the end?
Are you based in San Diego?
No not in the US
Ah ok, is your role based in Bay Area and is it at a FANGASM type company?
