RH transfer: Fidelity vs TDA

Like all others, I'm shocked and surprised by RH's move and would like to transfer my account to other brokerages. Any thoughts on which one to go with and the pros and cons? Much appreciated. **I already got 401k in Fidelity and Rollover IRA in TDA, so am familiar with both interfaces.

I love fidelity but there app and website feels outdated at times. But they are super reliable and I will always park my money with them. TDA is ok but thinkorswim is hands down one of the best trading platforms out right now. They have tools that make it very easy for you to learn. TLDR: you can’t go wrong picking either

Agree. I use thinkorswim for monitoring too, great platform.

Should I transfer now or wait till the event is over?

Open a new account and fund it. If you transfer it will eventually lock your assets for a week or 2. Transfer after the event

Thanks

TDA throttled trades today. Fidelity didn’t. Easy choice.

Didn’t Td halt trades at some point yesterday or today?

IBM slong OP Jan 28, 2021

I could be wrong, but I thought it halts on investment with margins only.

No idea, I’m moved out of RH, going to etrade since my RSUs are there too

What happens during the week of transfer ? I initiated a transfer from RH to fidelity. In case the market goes down a lot, I would like to sell my assets..Is buying and selling assets permitted during transfer?

Not permitted during. Same boat
