I am not on a work visa but need to stay at my current job for atleast a few more months due to personal reasons. I hate my current job, my manager and my team and I get angry and impatient every day. I cannot imagine what people who have to spend years on jobs due to visa uncertainty and restrictions must be going through. Some people have had to wait 3-5 years before they get to a phase where they can easily change jobs and transfer visa. I really respect you guys and hope things get better soon for everyone.

The horrifying part is that visa status and uncertainty becomes an underlying cause for mental health issues. It might not surface or doesn’t at all, but i have seen people gradually lose it on different occasions due to trauma caused by “restrictions in career due to visa”. It becomes worse when you get to know your employer is taking undue advantage of the same.
To everyone out there i just want to say that you guys are amazing. It takes a really strong personality to endure what you are going through. Remember, this experience is going to benefit you in some way, in the future.
