YouTube routinely bans and suspends for wrongthink without even giving any explicit reasons.
Iโm completely fine with Facebook/Twitter claiming complete editorial control of their platforms and banning anyone they disagree with (which they do wholeheartedly). But like every single other form of media, they also need to be entirely accountable for anything said on their platforms (e.g. compliance with slander law).
With section 230, Meta and Twitter are effectively state sponsored media monopolies that no other type of media can compete with. They both have direct political affiliations that actively support those monopolies. And thatโs what ended free speech.
