I am a single indian in mid 20s.
I am on f1 visa and was thinking of exploring new york for next 2 years.

My main reason for moving is, I am tired of seattles sad weather and have never explored east coast .

Also I have seen on blind that dating is better in new york.So, I am considering that as benefit.

I want to know how is new york and is it good to move there?How high is cost of living?

    NYC is fantastic. So many cultures, cuisines, and experiences. Each of the boroughs is unique and its own little microcosm. Incredible museums, all the sports teams represented, and wonderful universities. You’re a quick drive to the beautiful beaches in Long Island as well as the Adirondacks and all of the states in the Northeast. Flying to Europe is a breeze.

    COL is high, but you’re paying for being at the epicenter.

      Yeah, it’s not for everyone. I, personally, love it but when you’re in massive crowds on the subway, you get to learn that not everyone loves to bathe or use deodorant. 🤢

    NYC is good for hooking up but bad for dating/serious. But mid 20s….ehhhh…. maybe just getting laid is good enough 😄

      Seattle doesn’t compare to NYC. Not even close. Everything closes early; museums suck compared to NYC; and the Mariners can’t even clinch the big one.

      Can’t agree more. Just moved back after 2 years in NYC for work and though the job pays well I’m just biding my time to move back.
      NYC is the only city I’ve ever loved and there’s something for everyone :)

    Very, very overrated. You probably won’t get what you’re seeking.

    I know many who moved to NYC for better dating life only to have wasted a ton on money in the process.

    I think it’s good if you’re either very good looking (as always) or have a partner to explore the city.
