I am an L6 SDM with Amazon-India for 5 years. May get an offer from Microsoft soon. Level at Microsoft could be 65/66. Will update the post once I get the offer. Wanted to understand how feasible is to transfer internationally to some other country like US, Canada, etc within Microsoft. Are there any restrictions? Heard lot of conflicting stories too.

Any anecdotes?

I can also relocate within Amazon but don't wish to continue with Amazon. Also, happy to help anyone with the interviews.

YoE: 15
TC: 1.1 Cr INR (145k USD)

@dbbdbfh : Moving to India seems to be a good option as well if you have already experienced working in US. I want to experience that once. Not looking to settle down in US as such. Do you know what would the process be like within Microsoft for moving to US from India at 65/66 level manager?

The primary reason people leave India is not salary or savings, it is the competitive culture(think about walking your kids through the same grind), social stigma against certain practices and inability to reach your full potential due to lack of resources and infrastructure (even if you have money).
Coming back to savings, except Europe, you can go to Singapore, Canada or US and have more yearly savings in INR. Based on your 1.1cr in India, you are good at what you do, pretty sure you will be above 90%ile of people(in terms of TC) in other places as well. A 2-3% home loan sounds decent if you plan to settle, no other investment instrument will give you 10x leverage of the amount of money you have.
