I am interviewing with FB for M1/E6 Engineering position. I am currently SDM L6 in Amazon , I am just wondering what salary range I can expect? I am targeting 675-700k range to start negotiation.

Also what are some of the cool employee benefits offered at FB?

Location- Seattle
Current CTC - 420k
YOE - 13 Years

  • Tc target on the high end. Will need to crush the interviews and probably have competing offers. But it’ll be 600+.

    Benefits of interest:
    3000/year of health wellness childcare

4K baby cash + 4 mo parental leave

    Healthcare is great

On-site snacks and meals are awesome

    More opportunity for WLB.

Refreshers + personal performance multiplier (applies to bonus, refresher, and promo base salary) make top performers have an even higher ceiling

We’re starting to rollout VR for meetings.

    Remote work

Can you elaborate on WLB? I heard that it is pretty bad in FB.

    • Your career your choice. 30-50% of teams have great to decent WLB, and you can determine that during boot camp through a number of ways; or if you’re reallocated switch after a year.

It’s also largely in your hands. Pushing for a (faster) promo, shooting for GE/RE ? Probably gonna end up taking on more.

Bonus points, if you frame it right (ruthless prioritization and enablement) you can have both good ratings and fast promo (my personal strategy)

675-700 is not the start of the negotiations- it’s the end. I ended up at 700k but I had multiple offers.

  • 700k is possible if you count sign on in first year and a quarter of refresher in second year

  • Cool benefit is no enforced URA! As an SDM, you might not like it though.

I've seen on Blind numbers in the range of 600K. If you want to get the numbers you mentioned, it sounds like you may need competing offers. I used a competing offer from an algorithmic trading company, those usually have higher pay.
