I agree, from my research it seems like most DE bases cap at 200k / 400k RSU for IC5 equivalent so 180k / 310k RSU for a remote role seems fair for where I live
Cost of living is not what determines the pay adjustment. The data the company uses breaks down compensation to the county level so you could be in an HCOL area but if your county is considered to be lower tier than adjacent ones you will get adjusted accordingly. In some cases some people moved only a 10 minute drive from their previous location but to a new county and we're surprised to see their pay downgraded. They failed to check the internal tool to see if the base salary would remain the same.
