Principal SWE Base - 215k Bonus - 28% Signing Bonus - 45k No rsu offered but chances of getting it after promo cycle Y1 TC - 320k Remote MCOL YOE - 9.5 @mastercard This is an exploding offer and I do not have any other offers. I do have an Meta onsite coming up for E6 but I am skeptical about their PERM issues. #engineering #software #swe
That’s blind for you, people shitting on you for making 320k 😅 OP, not sure this helps but base can go up to 250 in NYC for principal. Do you have to move? If not, I’d take it, still go through with META because if you hit E6 and all goes well you’ll be looking at easy 500k+ in TC. Maybe you get an offer from Meta before your start date, then you just back out on Mastercard, you’ll burn the bridge but you won’t care making that big $$ at Meta
Thank you! They are not budging on the base. Current TC - 138k and I like the work and the scope at MS.
Be a good person, don’t do this. Ask Mastercard for an extension - if they are excited to have you they’ll offer flexibility

What is mcol here? Is it stl? Mastercard is usually rock solid for job security
Yes stl. How is the wlb?
One of my friend works at MasterCard. He has nothing but good things to say about the company. There is some corporate BS sure. He started 5 years ago after college and is senior now. Job security is great, wlb is team dependent but he said most teams are pretty chill,
Thank you! I hear the benefits are good esp 401k 10% match. I have till tomorrow to accept.
I see you mentioned PERM. I think MasterCard does PERM at the very end of H1B tenure just like banks...
Hello OP, is this the initial offer or did you negotiate to reach this numbers? I have an offer from them, but they said it's the approved and the final one.
I negotiated once. What are your numbers and role?
Mine is for level 6 Manager, software development engineering. Numbers are very less - 150k base+ 20k sign on bonus. They said it's the final. Do you think I have a room to negotiate. This is based in STL as well.
Worse than a remote swe2 at Microsoft
In what world msft pays >260k for swe2? Also, understand that every doesn’t/can’t work for top paying companies. Instead of being condescending, if you know the pay of master card, help this person out.
Lol I was a GEM at Microsoft for years. No it isn't. What is this nonsense? $260k would be a top 1% l62 offer.
