Rate my new job offer

Hi, I have received an offer for the role of “Enterprise Application Manager” role based in LA- from an apparel company whose headquarter is in Australia. They have just opened their US location just last year and are trying to build their IT team in the US now - a team of four potentially - CIO is the only person currently, EAM, a Shopify developer and IT help desk are other positions they’re trying to fill. I have over 7 years of experience in NetSuite and in my last job I had exposure to a SysOps/DevOps environment. Anyway, the offer I received is as follows- *TC- $130,000 annual ($5000 biweekly) I asked why $5000 biweekly, thinking they only give two paychecks per month. Hence in that sense, the total annual package will be $120,000, not $130,000. I brought up this point with the recruiter. To this, he responded, he came to the number by dividing $130,000 divided by 26 (unlike me where I was dividing by 24) He further explained that one year has 52 weeks hence 26 weeks biweekly and also a month may have paychecks like on the 1st, 15th and 29th. In my experience, I always had two paychecks per month. This is the first time I am hearing about this kind of setup for paychecks. Is this normal of how he gave me biweekly rate? This whole thing is raising my doubt about my actual base salary. *Medical, dental and vision- The company pay 85% of the cheapest plan and if I choose a more expensive plan, then I pay for the difference apart from 15% which I pay for the cheapest plan. (they have 26 plans available to choose from) The recruiter told me he has three dependents and he pay about 12K annually for his PPO plan. He also told me that he will forward his plan to me to get an idea. I said to only share what he’s comfortable but he still insisted. Not sure if the benefits offered is regular or not? *Bonus - No bonus for first 12 months (since they said they’re taking care of my H1-B visa transfer and green card process which is costing them about 32K. Not sure how much of this is true either.) After 12 months of employment, they said I might get 10% bonus. Important note: he said that the bonus is still not approved- they’re asking the board in December of this year to get it approved. *Stock- Private company so no stocks. *Travel reimbursement (for only Uber/Lyft/Public transport) - up to $170 per month. I don’t get this reimbusement if I take my car and park as they said they pay $170 for the parking space. *Employee discount on their website- 40% off My current position TC and benefits- *Position- NetSuite Administrator *Duration- joined as NetSuite Administrator in 2016. Same position since then. But responsibilities has increased to a PM role. *TC- $108,900 *yoga on site *health reimbursement for gym / yoga classes/health classes- $85 per month *Bonus- No bonus *Stock- No stock- again private company *Employee discount- 50% off from company website

When you’re paid bi weekly there will be 2 months where you’ll get 3 paychecks.

Below is a shorter summary. *Position: Enterprise Application Manager Location: LA, USA *TC: $130,000 ($5,000 biweekly-> $130,000/26 per recruiter) *Bonus: After 12 months & 10% upon approval from board *Visa/Green card process: they estimated it will take $32K for the first year. They’re using this as a reason to not make me eligible for bonus. *Stock- no stock as private company *Discount on company website: 40% off on selected products *Lastly, if I leave the company in less than 24 months from joining then I have to pay for the entire visa process that they put in.

Bi-weekly Payroll is very common and the recruiter explanation is very accurate. I have been HR for over a decade.

Bi-weekly pay structure - totally normal, and common in most companies. Bonus - might get 10% next yr is not the right answer. Discuss it further if you can. H1B and GC fees - 32k is super high. Most lawyers can take care of it within 15k.

Thanks! What do you think about the base salary of $130,000- for LA location- for 8 yoe in NetSuite, Celigo, Dell Boomi, SysOps/DevOps background?

Amazon bdie Nov 1, 2019

Its less for a developer. It seems about right for admin role.
