I’ve been on blind for about three weeks now, but I’ve only posted a couple of times. I’ve read a lot though, and geez what a disappointment. Everything toxic about social media is alive and well here, and I honestly haven’t read _one_single_post I found useful or uplifting. I don’t work in the tech industry, for one thing, so I don’t know most of the acronyms people use, (finally figured out faang) but workplace issues should be more universal, or so I thought. I mostly see the pettiness, selfishness, the knee-jerk assumptions and immature insults of high school level interactions. Like anyone really needs another place to do that. The anonymity just means no accountability like we’re used to on every other social forum. There’s nothing special here. “Trump vs God”. “Let’s see who has the most Likes”. Really? Is that supposed give workers a safe community? Ok so ignore the clickbait notifications and read what real people are saying, got it. The conversations aren’t any better. In fact they’re worse than fb in most cases, and since they’re anonymous you can’t really trust anything anyone says as fact; there’s so much petty noise here that nearly everything is tainted and nothing is actually credible. I don’t even see much factual information from anyone, really. I thought I could speak to others in my profession, or maybe gain some insight on current labor questions even from outside of it. I didn’t grow up with social media so I’m still a bit of an outsider to it. I use other forms on a daily basis, but I see no reason to be here at all. Abyssinia, mates.
Then crawl under a rock. Godspeed
And just like Facebook, there is the occasional smug, judgmental post, such as yours. Most adults who reach your conclusion will delete the app without the need for such drama
Lol
If you don't work in the tech industry there is literally no reason to be on this app. Most ppl use blind to compare tech job offers so... TC or GTFO.
A bit of an overgeneralization. Lots of signals if you can stand the noise.
