We have read enough horror stories on Blind about Amazon’s bad wlb and culture. But curious to know from y’all, what are some reasons (including these two) because of which, even if they gave a top of the band offer, you wouldn’t join?

2) Perks are shitty AF because of “Frugality”
3) No quality of life as an engineer
4) You are just a metric or a number for manager/director ( # of Sev 2 resolved, # of LOC, # of comments made on PR, AVG. revision of PR etc)
5) Leadership Principles are weapon and would be used against you to tighten your screw
Wouldn’t consider any position at Amazon below Director (L8)
Because Director+ life is super solid. You have train of direct reports licking your ass for promos. You can be a king 👑 and direct reports are unfortunate visa chained slaves who will even throw each other under the bus for survival. Then you can sit back and enjoy the Squid Games like a celebrity. 😃
PS: I am ex-AMZN
2) wlb is cow manure
3) pip culture is a scam
