I am planning to buy and contemplating if I should go with the traditional Realtor route or Buy with Redfin to get a 3k “cashback”. I knkw a realtor who is good but I am thinking if its worth 3k?

Thoughts?

I bought with redfin, I was very happy. They were super responsive when I wanted, and never pushy.

To have an specific example, without having told him anything, we went to an open house on a Saturday, at 4pm on a Saturday I called him and said I wanted to put an offer right away. But 8pm he had already sent me all the documentation as well as other documents to make sure I had everything and by 8am on Sunday we had the offer in.

  • A realtor can come in handy on a competitive market to help make your offer as competitive as possible.

Unless you’re looking for an agent to do the work of finding your new home for you Redfin is excellent for purchasing. They’ll do some digging for you but you’ll need to make an effort with the app as well.

If I were selling, in the other hand, I’d go with a traditional realtor. A good one will pay for themselves in helping you prep the house, price and market appropriately.

  • Buy with a realtor that you can trust, regardless Redfin or other companies. This realtor, FOR SURE, will save you more than 3k cashback in negotiation.

A good realtor will give you good market knowledge and also be aware of listings before they come on to any websites. They can see coming soon listings in their system. That’s how I bought my place, placing the first offer so there were no competing offers yet.
