I’m going to be working at a company in Chicago about a half mile west of Millennium Park, and I’m looking for a 1 br apartment. I’d like my commute to be about 25 mins at most (using public transportation). What would be the best areas to live in? I’m willing to spend a good amount, like $2,200 a month.
North side of the loop is pretty good. If you live by the lake you have access to the lakeshore trail for running/cycling. All groceries and stores are close by. You can find 1br in that range. It all depends on your needs. Family?
you mean half a mile west? half a mile east is lake michigan. 2200 gets you pretty far in Chicago. Look at Gold Coast area (Division red line), or Lincoln Park area. Those places would probably be between 1500-2000. 2200, you could look in Streeterville, or even just inside the loop (but i don’t recommend the loop because it’s dead at night and weekends). South loop is nice too (roosevelt and columbus dr area), but public transportation is harder.
I’m moving out of Chicago and planning to rent out my apt and it seems to meet all your criteria. DM me for more info!
