To the idiot that thinks there's no difference, give it back and see how you feel and then someone else that wants it can have it. GC is the golden ticket out of the indentured servitude prison. I was underpaid for years and didn't dare to peep a word or risk getting deported to India. The moment I got GC I straight up went to my manager and asked for salary adjustment that would bring me equal to my peers. Dude wasn't even aware I got GC and was dismissive at first. The moment I told him bro I got GC now dude turned 180 degree and was like oh yeah good for you let me see what I can do. I got the raise 2 months after. So shut up and be grateful for GC. The world is such a messed up place. People that want it can't get it while those who get it don't even appreciate it.

Why do you need GC for FB?

Situation is different for everyone. I don't think I'm that desperate for GC because my TC and job opportunities are unaffected.

Plenty of idea. If you're not negotiating or giving in to discriminatory practices, you're at fault. Every employer will lowball you irrespective of your immigrant status. It is your right to negotiate, and your ability to negotiate that defines what you get out of it. If you think you're being treated unfairly and illegally, you have channels in place to pursue remediation. Otherwise, it is supply and demand. No one forces you to accept a job on a visa - you make that choice.
Wait til you get naturalized. Then you can slap people across the face.
