First, I'm very happy with the decision to accept the offer. I'm putting this post out there to see if anyone has been in this situation, and get some stories. I accepted a PM offer at a pre-IPO company and its about ~70% higher TC than mine currently. But reading through recent posts, people are getting offers for 85-100% higher TC than my current TC at the same company. That's about 30k more in TC. Granted, most are SDE posts and it's different. Also granted, I suck at negotiating, I've been so underpaid for so long that I did minimal negotiating and grabbed the offer. Question, have you been in this situation? And how do you deal with it? I'm considering getting off this app because it's not helping. Also, I got a great job and I don't want to care about TC as much as I do.
Same boat as OP. I recently accepted an offer where I doubled my TC but this app makes me feel so behind in life since I’ve been severely underpaid for ages. I feel so depressed that I’ll be 34 with 9 YOE and I’ll still be renting for the foreseeable future i.e. at least 2-3 years (bay area), wife and I planning to start a family
Congrats on doubling TC! Most people I know are trying to do 20-30% higher, so in that regard you did great. Also, 34 is young!
TC or gtfo
Give it a year, you'll either exceed them or level with them. Until then, chill and learn about negotiation tactics for next time.
Yeah as others have said, don't sweat it. 70% is a big jump. You can interview again in a year and hop for another bump.
You can’t compare PM to SDE salaries. Look up PM salaries.
Negotiate harder next time!

people exaggerate…a lot. Do a job that you like and that makes you happy. Don’t worry about trying to compare yourself to other people on blind with a “could of, should of” mentality. Enjoy what you have!
