I recently interviewed and got offers. Am serving notice period and am bored. Ask me anything.
Should I watch the Fyre documentary on Netflix?
Don't own TV or Netflix subscription. But good question. Maybe my answer to my boredom.
No one asked if you own TV
Your preparation process in detail
Started off with over confidence. Did few Coursera basic DS courses and applied at G. Burned my fingers first time and got rejected at phone screen. Did leetcode for 6 months. Solved 300 q in Python. (Learned Python that way.. was java and Scala guy before). Applied again.. got through. Also read Google SRE website for design interview
Did you get offer for SRE or dev?
No TC???
Why bother with the other two when there is goog?
Agree. Joining Google. Interviewed in parallel
1. How did you get interviews at these places? 2. How many and which other companies did you paralelly interview at? 3. How would you rate the interview difficulty at each of these companies? 4. Red or blue pill?
1. Hunted down recruiter on linked in.. And messaged them and emailed them. Took advantage of linkedin free premium trial. Also applied online. Asked people to refer. Every way I could get my foot in the door. 2. Interviewed at total 10 or so companies. Got rejected by fb, Amazon, jet.com, dataminr.. and a bunch of others. Was giving phone screen around 3 times a week. Was good practice. 3. Wayfair was more interested in design interview. - medium difficulty. Bloomberg was medium difficulty. 4. Google was longest and hardest. But with plenty leetcode.. the coding rounds didn't feel difficult. Design round was interesting. Reading SRE website helped.
Came to say thank you for the honesty here OP...refreshing in between so many crao posts on Blind.
Is that for Computer Science? If yes, what feild. What is your educational background, YOE, TC? What process did you follow and how long did it take?
What do you think of AMAWAA? Ask Me Anything Won’t Answer Anything!
Be patient.
What was the interview process in Bloomberg like? LC easy - medium or hard? Difficulty level?
How did you reapply to Google and reinterview again in only 6 months time? Isn’t the cool off period 1 year?
Begged recruiter
What did you say? I thought there was some universal policy to prevent candidates from being reinterviewed before the one year mark? Seems like there isn’t?
