I need a new CU or bank in the USA. Looking for one with a great and secure online experience. Does this community have recommendations?
We've been with First Tech for over 20 years. It has good customer service and accepts foreign wire transfers which not all Credit Unions do (including Navy Federal, the US's largest CU). We no longer live near a First Tech branch but can do everything online and if for any reason we need a branch, it is in a CU exchange so we can go into any affiliate's branch.
+1 to Firsttech
Lots of credit unions have geographical limitations for new accounts. Good ones still pay well over 1% interest on checking accounts though.
First tech, it's on campus
DCU is very good
We have DCU, in addition to First Tech. I agree DCU is good too, but it is primarily east coast and does not deal with foreign transfers

East Asian Men don’t talk to me bc I’m Vietnamese
Most CUs don’t have a good online interface and are a bit behind in terms of modern features. Security is really subjective. What does that even mean? Consumers have no idea what security features any bank uses on the backend. But obviously it’s in the bank’s best interest not to lose money to fraud, so they’re not exactly trying to skimp on security. Most fraud is due to user errors like clicking on suspicious links or using shady ATMs etc. You should list more important criteria that’s actually measurable as well as features you actually use often.
