Hi, After submitting a resume, I get a lot of responses from non-tech corporate or smaller companies; however, I don't hear back from FANG and tier 1/2 companies even though I have 10 years' experience. My experience has been in non-tech corporate, smaller companies and last 4 years in my startup. I have been trying to get the recruiter's attention on LinkedIn to jump on a call as I can easily get an interview from there. I usually apply for a job on the company career site and follow that with a LinkedIn in-mail message similar to this and a connection request; however, I rarely hear back from them. "Hi XXX, Allow me to introduce myself; my name is XXX, and I have applied for the "engineering manager XXX" position. My X years of professional experience has provided me with extensive technical and managerial skills ideal for this role. Most recently, I have recruited and managed a team of X direct reports consisting of developers, QA and designers. I've worked closely with product managers, business partners and leadership teams to deliver many products. I have architected and co-founded XXX, a SaaS product that does XYZ and has since transacted over $X (very big number) in sales. Working at XXX is the perfect next step in my career. I have attached my resume for your consideration, and I would be glad to jump on a call to discuss my credentials. Thanks for your time. " Am I missing something or is there a better way to get the recruiter's attention? Should I message them first? Change the content of my emails? Any help is much appreciated. Thanks again
Get a referral
Thanks. If I could get a referral then that wouldve been my first choice. I just thought the recruiter of other companies email me constantly trying to recruit so I wanted to get attention of the big guys in anyway I can
It doesn’t have to be someone u worked with. There are plenty of guys on blind willing to do it since they get bonus if u get in.
In my experience, either a recruiter’s direct contact from LinkedIn, or a referral, are the only things that work.
Thanks. I'll start working on getting referrals
Referrals are definitely better
