New grad in the Bay Area. Having been looking for a full-time job for the past 5 months. No luck. About to graduate in a month. Got calls from a lot of companies for security positions - Cloudflare, Citrix, Netskope, Snowflake, Robinhood, Proofpoint, Houzz, Guidewire and recently VMware All the above companies have ghosted. I give one or two rounds at the max and the recruiters/team members never get back. I am not sure if I am doing something wrong or they are just plain ghosting. If you have been in the same situation or any kind of advice would really help. Thank you
Get your resume reviewed from some veterans, seniors in your field, look around what are the skills in demand, learn/furnish them more. Good luck
Looks like his resume is ok, since he got calls? Next time just ask the HM about the role, requirements and if you’re background is a fit. And if not exact, what they are looking for?
It's intern season ..they're probably getting bombarded and losing you in the pile
No, I was in the same boat as a new grad (~6 months ago). I can very safely tell you very few companies give a shit about new grads. They'll pay attention if you have that star University on your resume or if you've solved P v NP. Was ghosted by so SO many companies before I got my offer
I don't understand how those recruiters//companies get away with it. Is it really that difficult to reply to emails when that's pretty much the only thing you need to do the whole day (together with pinging people on LinkedIn)? I see it always as a cultural red flag for those companies. And I tell my friend and network to never apply to those companies. it ever only happened to me with Netflix though.
What are you talking about? This thread is taking the case where the recruiters never respond after an interview, not for unsolicited job inquiries
I see. Bad indeed.
By ghosting do you mean the recruiter emails you, "thanks for your time, we've decided not to move forward"?
Ghosting means they just don't reply even if you send a follow-up mail
