If your team does daily standups, your manager is a micromanager
My packet is expected to reach hiring committee Thursday. Along with this update, my recruiter asked for an indepth work & education history as far as 10 years -- list every promo, identify all gaps between jobs, reason for leaving, etc.. Is this normal? TC: 220k #google
Not every field is mandatory. They might have mentioned to prioritise few things like references
Do you have many gaps? Either way, asking this way for last 10 years definitely doesn’t sound normal.
I have zero gap in my resume but I felt the questions had a bit too much investigative(?) nature to it, so I started worrying a bit. But Blinders here are kindly reassuring me that this is quite standard. Thanks!
I got asked the same question. I guess it’s normal
1-2 month career breaks are also asked about in detail?
>3 month only
Sounds normal, dont worry
Thanks for the reassurance!
Standard. So that the recruiter has all the details to push your profile for hire.
For only foll was asked Every promo Gaps only if > 3 Months Reason for leaving if stayed < 1 year at job It's standard for G HC
Thanks! I've been through a lot of HC posts but I never read anything like this so I wasn't quite sure what to expect.
Is this for SWE? What level?
Happened to me. In my case, recruiter wanted to give HC complete information. Got approved. Good luck!
Thanks! The anticipation was putting all sorts of thoughts but this is reassuring.
It’s not normal to ask for every promotion, gap or reason for leaving… but it’s common to ask work education residence history for the last 5-10 years
The reason for leaving was intended for positions with less than a year, which I have two (one closed down and the other was contract transfer)
I also have that but didnt have to explain
