Recruiters, do you respond to LinkedIn InMail messages?

I've sent messages to recruiters via InMail but I've had better results via email. Problem is not all recruiters list their email addresses. Recruiters, how often do you reply to InMail messages (if at all?)

I do respond to LinkedIn messages but, and I mean no disrespect, a lot of the people reaching out to me don’t have the right experience for what I’m looking for. I’d say that 70% of the people contacting me on LinkedIn (excluding other recruiters, recruiting me) are recent graduates and I only hire senior engineers. I try to help as many as I can get in touch with the right teams but I have to be focused on my team’s needs too.

Personal anecdote, they do. That's how I landed my Google interview(and also others). Might work best for SWE since that is hot right now. You need to find right recruiter, who is recruiting for positions applicable to you (factors like seniority, location, role). Also see how active the recruiter is on Linkedin(are they adding new connections, have a job posted or any message regarding potential openings). Keep your message terse and to the point. Start with yoe, current role and what role you want to apply for. This should be enough to get an introductory call.

My friend is a recruiter and he is swarmed with inmails. 90% are new grads with a bunch from India with no relevant experience to the job he’s recruiting for (listed on his LinkedIn) he doesn’t respond because he is focused on filling positions he’s recruiting for with industry hires with relevant experience. It’s actually poor form to spam recruiters for jobs without having the requisite skills.
