Spoke to a recruiter today at Netflix, really sounds like what I'm looking for. I read the article by WSJ and have heard all the rumors about culture. Honestly it's what I need right now. The pay seems great and I'd like to move to California. I really want the job, how do I get it? I'm a CS major but not the smartest dude. I'm studying for interviews by reviewing discrete math. I feel like I have no idea what to prepare for. Any tips?
I haven't heard of it being particularly hard? I think there's a lot more focus on whether you'd be a culture fit
+ team fit
Why are you studying for interviews by reviewing discrete math?
Prerequisite to reviewing Algorithms and Data Stuctures. Also, no idea how to prepare.
Because, as he said in the OP, he's "not the smartest dude"?
I did all the prep under the sun. There are some really great software engineer interview courses on udemy. Every team is different so you can never be sure what type of interview you are going to get. Be frank about giving and soliciting feedback.
My recruiter responded today, she's definitely stressing the idea that Netflix doesn't do Leecode style prep but I'm not so sure. I think my interview will end up being design focused but it's hard to determine how much algorithm study I should do.
I *heard* they don’t have a standard leetcode grind loop. why don’t you ask the recruiter what to expect
Does Netflix have a team loop or a company wide loop?
Waiting for her response but would also like to see if anyone here has experience.
