I fu*king hate companies that expects me to know everything about them. I had an onsite interview and two of the developers asked me for my favourite feature on their website? To be honest why do they expect me to know all that? I know what the company do but diving deep into the website fuck no I have other things to do.

  • Asking about a favorite feature is hardly expecting one to know “everything” about a company. They weren’t asking corporate trivia.

    You conveyed to them that you don’t prepare or have a genuine interest in the product.

    The real question is why YOU wasted their time when you clearly barely have any interest in what they do or have built. The very things you would be working on if you were hired.

      I clearly know what they do. Just the high level overview of what they do. Asked me what they do I’ll tell you. Also product is not the only reason I apply to a company. I consider other factors like WLB/ tech stack etc. I’m not saying they are wrong in asking me for a feature but I don’t like it and if any company in the future expects me to know their product in details it’s a pass for me I’ll take my talent somewhere else.

    • How much time doing research would it have taken you to answer their questions? The way you present it, it sounds like it would have taken me 10 minutes. That's why a lot of folks here will not be kind to your line of thinking. You sound like someone that would be a cancer if hired.
