My building in Redmond is increasing monthly rent by $1000.

Currently paying $2400 and my lease is coming to an end, this month.

New lease terms:

$3200 for 13 months

Or

$4100 month to month.

What the fuck is this?

Edit: i’m getting fucked by Taxes anyway so i might as well pay blind tax too:

I used to live there. Modera is TERRIBLE. Please take this as an opportunity to get out, especially if Felicity is still the community manager.

  • Tell them you have no problem moving if you have to but would prefer not to. If you’ve been there for more than a couple of years they have to spend a ton of money renovating anyway. Especially if you’ve been there for 3-5 years. carpets, floors, walls, grout , blinds etc will easily add up to 10K so they gain nothing

@docusign - Not really. It really depends on the season. Housing has become unaffordable for most of us. There is an increase in demand for rent because of that and return to office. Many folks who were working from other states have returned to WA. They might give you negligible concessions. Also it doesn’t cost them 10K to renovate. They hoard materials and buy them in bulk. You have no idea how much materials they store in rented storages. I worked in one of the communities during my high school days part time. Most of the work is done by undocumented immigrants. Their hourly rates are 🥜🥜. Considering the situation now, it’s unlikely they would budge. But give it a try..who knows!

    • Half the units in my complex are still empty. They go around turning the lights on and off and plant random bikes and patio furniture to make it look like people live there. Except the same props keep rotating from one patio to another and you can clearly see that the inside is completely empty.

Just googled the other properties for the company. 2 BR on 140th andNE 8th is 2600
