I just had an interview I feel like I completely bombed. They are offering me 24 hours to schedule a redo (Karat). Should I do so? What if I do worse on the redo? I ran out of time on the last question and wasn't able complete it. I coded the entire solution, and the interviewer confirmed my solution would work. My code wouldn't run and I ran out of time. I couldn't debug the syntax error and was getting very flustered. After the interview I pasted my solution into an IDE and found that I was missing a closing }. Interview was with Palantir
You should redo. Also keep in mind they will evaluate you both on the original and the redo interview. The solution has to run for a pass I think. Code in python for speed.
Thank you
Redo! You're almost there 💪
Thank you. I scheduled the redo.
Karat allows for redos as the standard: https://karat.com/software-engineers/interviewing-with-a-partner
Thank you
Schedule the redo a bit out in the future, Palantir can move you forward and cancel the redo if you actually did well. Also, is it a 3 question interview? I think getting 2.5 questions right is enough to pass the round.
I believe Karat interviews are infinite questions until the time runs out. The first few minutes were like 5 verbal question (what’s the time complexity of this function etc). then followed two coding questions. Sadly I solved both, but got a syntax error on the second question making me unable to run it.
Definitely redo
Try to get to at least some of the third question! If you can get the first two and some of the third I believe that’ll make you stand out. Good luck.
Did you end up going for the redo? If so, how was it? If not, were 2 questions enough to move forward?
Yeah i did the redo and got 3 question, made to the on-site
I had no idea this was a thing
Is it really a redo or just an extra round to help make a decision due to them being on the fence about you?
