AWS Guys, Why is Redshift getting creamed in Datawarehousing market ?? We at Vmware love it because we can market vSAN much more easily. But why does Redshift have such a bad reputation? Has AWS given up on data warehouse ambitions ??? Probably having IaaS is way more profitable.
What go you guys use redshift for?
Don't know about Snowflake etc ... But Microsoft has been kicking their ass nonetheless...
Microsoft cosmos db is fucking shit. Microsoft's last 25 years in database technology have been epic display of mediocrity. Cosmos is a failure and even Microsoft shops find it to be slow and unreliable.
Finally AWS has grown fat and lazy...
No decent engineer wants to join amazon anymore. Product quality will slowly degrade. It will suffer for treating employees like sh**.
I have used both snowflake and redshift and I can say that queries run way faster on snowflake than redshift.
It’s the problem of Amzn trying to do everything at once. The quality of many things are okish.
Snowflake ate Redshift's lunch and defecated it back onto Amazon
Yes snowflake does use S3. Once their service crashed and we could see S3 in the stack trace lol :)
Yes it's Saas running on Amazon and Azure Iaas
