I’m having no trouble getting interviews with traditionaltech companies ( getting offers from FB and LI, with other interviews lined up) but want to get to actual interviews with NYC finance firms without having my resume screened out. Particularly interested in Jane Street, cause it would be awesome to work with. Can anyone help get me past the resume black hole?
Did you go to a top school? I got a call after applying on the portal. I don't have any big name on my resume, but I go to a top school and doing well there. Maybe they are biased.
I am pretty sure they don't really do referral. But you can still get interviews by applying on their website. I went to onsite for a graduate position. I didn't go to a famous school
Jane Street, that’s a bad neighbourhood bro.
Jane Street in the West Village is one of the most desirable streets in all of Manhattan.

Did you go to a top school for undergrad? Finance companies are big on pedigree in general. That’s probably part of the reason.
Ah that would explain it. Might as well stick to the meritocratic companies in that case... I went to a top state school.
