Hey blind,

i just had a question. So i was recently referred to amazon twice, but got rejected within 24H.

So im curious as to the possible reasons why? i did an onsite more than > 12 months ago if that matters. I was told i was close and “passed bar” so im not sure what’s up. so could it be an app block still?

if a kind soul at amazon could check this out i would be highly apperciative!

When we go to interview debriefing if we don’t hire as a HM and BR next we discuss recycling the candidate to reinterview. 1 year recycle is standard. Sometimes we do 2 years if the candidate was really bad.

Ah thanks for the perspective. I assume BR means bar raiser? I was just curious as it’s been > 1 year since my last onsite and given the feedback it doesn’t sound like I bombed(?)

Seems like dodged a bullet if they still aren’t taking care of referrals/referrers...put energy to other companies & interviews. Amazon will most likely come back in a year or 2.

Referrals don’t count for shit at Amazon. Just a way to save recruiting time shortlisting potential candidates

I think ATS might have autorejected your resume (even with referral), I’ve shotgunned like 40 applications out to all different teams through referral and some of them are still rejected within an hour. Luckily it’s Amazon so there’s thousands more postings

    • * that I am aware of in my fairly extensive time in recruitment working with most of the big ATS

I only say that because I got rejected from a position within 1 hour once but then the hiring manager called me and did an informal interview, so idk what happened there then

Could have been a mandatory requirement that you did not meet. I applied to a role in another country (dual citizen) but they screened me out because I had my Amazon careers account set to my home country region. Friend who referred me looked into it and said that’s what happened.
