I am 25 and I live in Jersey City. The waterfront properties are amazing. High rent though. You will reach midtown in about 20/30 mins by train and downtown in under 10 mins. Looks like a perfect place, quiet-ish, Amazing views, easy commute, almost every store you require is within 10-20 min . Close to JC downtown, in case you are too bored to go to NYC or trying to avoid NYC due increasing covid cases.

Most expensive it’s ever been. I’d say live in the city if you’re young because I wish I did that. Once you’re out of the city, it’s hard to move into the city. If you’re interested in the outskirts, check out Bushwick/Williamsburg/Greenpoint/DUMBO in Brooklyn, Jersey City/Hoboken/Weehawken in NJ and LIC/Astoria/Sunnyside in Queens. All are within 20 mins of the city and are pretty nice areas to live.
