I have a friend on the verge of termination at FB. Offer doesn't say anything about what happens with relocation bonus if terminated before fully used. It seems that signing bonus should be returned since he would be terminated before the 1st year but generally they don't ask for it if they terminate you. Any idea about whether you can still use relocation bonus after termination?
I always wonder how someone is on the "verge of termination". Like what is it that they're doing that hasn't gotten them out right terminated but almost terminated.
What do you think PIP means
Friend, lol
Why getting fired even before completing one year?
He pushed toward more secure handling of user data
Aha. I heard this from a friend that works at FB. Several people got fired for bad handling of user data.
Depends on the exact wording of the repayment clause in the contract... how do you expect anyone here to answer without reading it? Four outcomes: 1) you are not liable to repay 2) you are liable to repay and they will not pursue you 3) you are liable to repay and they will pursue you and succeed 4) you are liable to repay and they will pursue you and fail
Refuse to sign anything if you have to pay them back. Go no. I would not sign a separation agreement if they want money. They are just going to give dates of employment and not reason for leaving anyway.
I thought you need to return your relocation bonus but not the signon in such a case.
Yes she/he can , I had a friend who was rifd at google before year 1 and his relocation bonus was not reclaimed - typically large companies won’t really try to claim
Gotcha, makes sense
